Toys, Books, Materials - well anything really! Since becoming a member of the internet home educating world, I have discovered many things; one is that toys are often better when they are simple and made of natural materials and the second is that catalogues and educational suppliers are much cheaper ways of buying things. So here is the best of what I have found so far and all the ones recommended to me. There are further suppliers on the Montessori Commercial Page and shortly, on the Parenting Support Page. Books Well - everything you could want really! If you go to the Good Books Page you'll find some MuddlePuddle recommendations and a link box. Excellent site with real savings on all types of books - perhaps the best feeling is ordering workbooks at a fraction of shop price. Terribly sensible grown up books, recommended to me for their how to have nice handwriting publications. "Give your child a better start in life... Judging by the site, this is indeed exactly what they do! The home of FRed the book and I have just discovered, an Early Years Range including a book called Muddles, Puddles and Sunshine. Which is absolutely freaky because I knew nothing about it at all when I set up this early years site called MuddlePuddle. Oh dear, not a genius after all... I really DID name it after my children! Toys and Educational Play A nice toys and educational items site with everything from baby and toddler toys to traditional dolls houses, dressing up and stocking fillers. U.S. based with beautiful toys, a special montessori section and lots of good pictures to look at. The website is being updated but get on the reminder list and order the catalogue. A stunning array of Montessori products, made in Malaysia but they appear to ship abroad. A UK home educator gave me this link to very well priced and clearly organised site for educational kits. Really superb educational catalogue. Lovely toys and equipment and the craft packs look good value for money. Most famous for their maths rods, (similar in style to some Montessori products), there is lots to look at and absorb here. A highly thought of educational catalogue with excellent online usability and some terrifyingly good offers! Prepare to part with cash! A range of arts and crafts, educational toys, stocking fillers and fundraising ideas. Absolutely beautiful looking toys made with predominantly natural materials, judging by the photos. This website is also full of lots of really practical tips on using cloth nappies, as well as explaining exactly what's so good about them. In the interests of being unbiased, here's another one! Another good nappy site! Mainly furniture - the scaled down stuff is brilliant for children and some excellent toys - wooden blocks and mini kitchenware being my favourites. Makers of all things practical for your kitchen and elsewhere! Lots of maternity clothes, baby supplies, clothes and toys. A phonic reading scheme.
